Some homes are built to be looked at. This one was built to be felt.

High above El Dorado Hills, where the sky runs clear for miles and the light changes hour by hour, we completed a home that captures everything we believe about design: that a house should be shaped around the way it makes you feel — from the first light of the morning to the last gold of the evening.

We call it El Dorado Gold. And in this post, we’re opening every door: a walk-in closet lit from within, two bathrooms in two completely different moods, and a bar that turns to amber at golden hour — all in Dell Anno cabinetry and Cosentino surfaces, designed and delivered by our California team.

The Closet: Where the Day Begins

The first ritual of every morning is getting dressed — so in El Dorado Gold, we designed the light for it.

The primary walk-in closet is lit from within: LED threaded through every shelf and glass-front display cabinet, a central island in warm oak, and a sculptural pendant overhead. The light isn’t borrowed from a window — it’s built into the cabinetry itself, warm and even, so the day begins exactly the way it should.

This is what custom closet design means at the highest level: grain, proportion, and illumination conceived as one piece. Whether your project is in the Sacramento hills or Los Angeles, our design team creates walk-in closets engineered to the millimeter around how you actually live — and around how you want to feel at 7 a.m.

The Baths: Two Rooms, Two Moods

By mid-morning, the sun is up and the whole valley is awake with it. The primary bath opens to the hills and the lake beyond — a freestanding tub set right at the window, where the water you soak in meets the water in the distance. Cosentino runs the length of the vanity in a single seamless piece, the basin carved straight into the surface — no lip, no break — with warm light glowing beneath the floating cabinetry.

Down the hall, the powder room takes a darker, quieter turn: Cosentino in a deep oxidized patina, carried from the counter into a sink carved from the slab, framed by fluted walnut and warm integrated light. One material language, two completely different rooms — proof that luxury bathroom design is about mood as much as material.

The Bar: Golden Hour, Built In

Every day in this house ends the same way — in gold.

As the sun drops behind the hills, the bar turns amber: warm light threaded along the reveals, glowing behind glass-front display cabinets, running beneath floating walnut shelves and along a dark Cosentino stone island. The cabinetry doesn’t just hold the light at golden hour — it becomes it. This is the hour the home lives up to its name: El Dorado, the golden one.

Wherever your home is, the process starts the same way: bring us your floor plan or simply your ideas, and within days our team presents a custom 3D design concept with a transparent budget proposal.

If El Dorado Gold speaks to you — the closet lit from within, the seamless Cosentino bath, the bar that glows at golden hour — let’s talk about what light can do in your home.
